Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki confirmed for Race Of Champions

Race Of Champions (ROC) has today confirmed Australian Supercars stars Will Brown and Brodie Kostecki as the latest drivers to join the line-up for Race Of Champions Wellington, taking place at Hnry Stadium on 9-10 January 2027.

The pair will return to ROC after making a major impact at the event’s first ever Southern Hemisphere edition in Sydney in 2025, where they teamed up to represent Team Australia Supercars and finished runners-up in the ROC Nations Cup. Brown and Kostecki went all the way to the final at Sydney’s Accor Stadium, narrowly missing out to Team France’s Sébastien Loeb and Victor Martins in a dramatic decider. Brown defeated Loeb in the opening heat before Kostecki was edged out by Martins, with France ultimately taking the deciding race by just 0.2 seconds.

The return to ROC Wellington will see the two Supercars champions reunited on a purposebuilt stadium circuit, where they will once again go head-to-head with some of the biggest names in international motorsport.

Kostecki became Supercars Champion in 2023 before adding the Bathurst 1000 to his list of major victories in 2024, while Brown claimed his maiden Supercars Championship in 2024. Both drivers have established themselves among the leading names of Australia’s new generation of Supercars stars.

They will line up alongside reigning 2025 Supercars Champion Chaz Mostert, a two-time Bathurst 1000 winner who was also runner-up to nine-time World Rally Champion Sébastien Loeb in the individual Race Of Champions competition in Sydney last year.

The international field will also feature four-time Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel, 10-time Formula 1 Grand Prix winner Valtteri Bottas and New Zealand rally star Hayden Paddon, with further drivers still to be announced.

Brown and Kostecki also bring an established rivalry and plenty of history to Wellington. Former Erebus Motorsport teammates, the pair now race for rival teams Triple Eight Race Engineering and Dick Johnson Racing respectively, while they are also co-hosts of the motorsport podcast Lucky Dogs, extending their connection with fans beyond the racetrack.

“It was one of the best weekends I’ve had outside of Supercars,” said Will Brown.

“Getting to go racing with Brodie there was a highlight – we’re rivals enough as it is on a Supercars weekend, so being teammates again on a track neither of us really knows was a different kind of fun. Getting the call to come back was an easy yes. Wellington looks like an incredible venue, and I can’t wait to line up again alongside a field like this. Thanks to Fredrik and the whole ROC team for having us back.”

Race Of Champions Wellington will see some of the world’s best drivers from Formula 1, World Rally and Rallycross, Supercars and beyond go head-to-head in identical cars on a purpose-built tarmac circuit inside Hnry Stadium, with only driver skill determining who wins.
